We are looking for a team for our new store opening in Tonbridge in February 2026.
Until the store is open, you will need to be able to travel to our Ramsgate store to begin training for when the new store opens.
Who are we looking for?
1. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in all areas of fishkeeping, with some previous experience in aquatics and fishkeeping, an enthusiasm for the hobby, and a strong commitment to customer service.
2. They should be self-motivated, positive, and organised, as well as hardworking and enthusiastic to learn.
3. The person we are looking for should be a positive, practical individual who is keen to be part of a strong, happy team of staff who enjoy working in their vocational career.
What does the role involve?
4. Aiding in the day-to-day maintenance of the store, including caring for the wide variety of livestock that we carry and serving customers.
5. Delivery of excellent standards of livestock care and store presentation.
6. Greeting and welcoming all our customers in an articulate, approachable, and friendly manner to maintain our high standards of customer care
7. Communicate your fishkeeping knowledge clearly to customers with varying levels of experience and maintain our policy of responsible fishkeeping.
8. Working efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
9. Completing sales correctly and efficiently ensures customers leave the store fully satisfied.
10. Getting merchandise out onto the shop floor, organising stock neatly on the shelves, and ensuring it's correctly priced and available.
Where will you be working?
Your full-time role will be at the new store:
Maidenhead Aquatics Tonbridge, Brookside Garden Centre, Seven Mile Lane, East Peckham, Tonbridge, TN12 5JG
But training will take place at:
Maidenhead Aquatics Ramsgate, Ramsgate Garden Centre, Montefiore Avenue, Ramsgate, CT118BW
We don't have Marines, so you will only need to have experience with freshwater aquarium fish and ponds.
