The Role As an experienced Music Teacher, your responsibilities will include: Delivering high-quality Music Teacher lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a primary focus on A-Level music and ensuring students excel in both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject. Designing and implementing a rich and engaging curriculum that includes music theory, performance, composition, and music history, catering to students of all abilities, particularly those in Key Stage 5. Guiding students through individual and group performances, helping them refine their vocal, instrumental, and compositional skills. Collaborating with the music team to enhance the curriculum and ensure it meets the needs of all students across different key stages. Providing constructive feedback to assess and support student progress, ensuring that all students achieve their full potential, particularly those taking A-Level music. Supporting extracurricular activities, such as concerts, music clubs, and ensembles, giving students opportunities to showcase their talents. Taking on leadership or mentoring roles within the department, supporting less experienced Music Teachers and contributing to the department's development and direction. What We Are Looking For We are looking for an experienced Music Teacher who is passionate about the subject and dedicated to helping students succeed, particularly those studying at Key Stage 5. You should have: ✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related field. ✔️ Proven experience teaching music at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a strong track record of success, especially at A-Level. ✔️ In-depth knowledge of music theory, performance, composition, and music history. ✔️ The ability to inspire and engage students, helping them excel in both practical and theoretical aspects of music. ✔️ A creative and adaptable approach to teaching that makes lessons both challenging and enjoyable for students of all abilities. ✔️ Excellent communication skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents. ✔️ A commitment to supporting extracurricular activities that enrich the music programme. ✔️ Leadership or mentoring experience within a music department is highly desirable.
