Job Overview
The role is a 12‑month secondment until 30/10/2027, available only to staff currently employed by Hywel Dda University Health Board. Agreement for the secondment must be obtained from your current manager prior to applying. The post supports an employment break for the existing post holder and offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Main Duties
This position leads two niche cancer diagnostic services: the Rapid Diagnosis Clinic (RDC) and the Malignancy of Unknown Origin (MUO).
* Manage and oversee a small team; provide weekly clinic leadership for each service.
* Triage referrals from primary and secondary care, acting as the Key Worker from referral acceptance to discharge.
* Deliver patient‑centred clinical care, including history taking, physical assessment, and non‑medical prescribing.
* Independently deliver bad news and feedback to patients and their families.
