A dynamic and expanding finance department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant. This role is ideal for an individual who is AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA and looking to advance their career with full study support and clear development opportunities.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will support the Management Accountant in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, with a particular focus on the organisation’s Investment Partnerships. Their input will be vital to financial analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts for Investment Partnerships
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Compilation of funding summaries and member loan funding requests
* Variance analysis and stakeholder engagement
* Preparation of year-end audit packs and coordination with external auditors
* Review of year-end statutory accounts
* Support for project cost-to-complete exercises alongside the Investment Partnerships Finance Manager
* Contribution to quarterly risk reporting
* Cover for bank reconciliations and weekly cash reporting
* Ad hoc support across the finance team
Candidate Profile:
* AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proficient in Excel and financial systems
* A proactive and collaborative approach
