Our client is a specialist in their market sector, and they are looking to recruit a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis.
The Job You’ll Do
1. Work safely by complying with and using safe systems of work, including permit systems, method statements, and dynamic risk assessments.
2. Efficiently fault find and diagnose technical and process issues.
3. Coordinate and cooperate with production supervision daily to ensure smooth operation of plant and equipment.
4. Resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact on production.
5. Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements, including maintenance schedules and equipment reliability.
6. Complete all maintenance activities on time as scheduled.
7. Be flexible in attendance to complete activities as needed.
8. Follow instructions provided by site management and supervisors.
9. Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
10. Be a proactive team member.
11. Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
12. Be IT competent and able to complete shift reports detailing all relevant information for ongoing review or repair continuation.
13. Some overtime work is expected.
14. Possess fabrication and welding skills.
About You
1. Recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship or a similar qualification.
2. 3-5 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
3. Experience in PPM and fault finding on hydraulics and pneumatics systems on modern machinery.
4. Electrical knowledge is an advantage.
5. Proficiency in using computer systems.
6. Solid maintenance and engineering experience in a production environment, preferably heavy engineering.
