Rate of Pay: £248.00 - £341.58 per day
Summary:
City of Westminster Council is looking for an experienced Application Support Officer to provide expert technical support across a broad digital portfolio. This role is pivotal to ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing application services that support our residents, staff, and strategic ambitions. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic Digital and Innovation team, contributing to smart city initiatives and championing service improvement through agile, user-centered delivery.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical application support across a range of council systems and services.
* Support delivery of key digital, customer, and smart city initiatives aligned with user needs and council strategy.
* Maintain and update application systems including patching, housekeeping, and security.
* Ensure compliance with security standards, GDPR, and council IT policies.
* Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure system performance and service continuity.
* Participate in Agile or Waterfall-based project teams to develop and enhance applications.
Requirements:
* Experience in a multi-disciplinary technical support team within a high-pressure, customer-facing IT environment.
* Proven ability to manage live support services, including rapid response to incidents and coordination of emergency fixes.
* Hands-on experience supporting a range of enterprise applications (full stack knowledge preferred).
* Familiarity with application lifecycle management, testing, and release procedures.
* Strong understanding of service delivery frameworks and end-user support operations.
* Understanding of security and compliance principles within IT service environments.
