Software Engineering Team Leader- Java
Up to £75,000 + Benefits
Remote (UK-based- once a quarter on site)
We’re partnering with an established global SaaS/FinTech business that’s looking to hire a hands-on Software Engineering Team Leader to join their growing engineering function.
This is an opportunity for an experienced developer who enjoys leading and mentoring others while still remaining technically involved. You’ll play a key role in shaping engineering standards, supporting a small team, and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions used by organisations worldwide.
The company has been a long-standing innovator within the SaaS space, with a global customer base spanning 70+ countries and hundreds of thousands of users.
What you’ll be doing:
• Leading, mentoring and supporting a small team of developers
• Remaining hands-on with architecture, coding and code reviews (60% hands on/40% team)
• Building scalable SaaS products and RESTful APIs
• Collaborating on engineering best practices, tooling and system design
• Helping shape the future engineering culture and technical direction
Tech environment includes:
Java, Spring, JavaScript, REST APIs, SQL Server/TSQL, AWS, CI/CD, Jenkins/CircleCI, Tomcat, Bash, Git and scalable distributed systems.
What they’re looking for:
• Previous experience leading or mentoring developers
• Strong hands-on Java engineering background
• Experience building enterprise SaaS/web applications
• Strong understanding of scalable systems and cloud infrastructure
• Someone who enjoys balancing technical delivery with people leadership
