The Private Pharmacy, an ITH Group company, is looking for a positive and hardworking individual to join our dispensing team. We are a busy online pharmacy dispensing controlled medications daily.
We seek a positive and approachable person with a Level 2 or equivalent Healthcare Assistant and Dispenser qualification to enrich people's lives. An adaptable and flexible mindset, along with a desire to apply newly acquired knowledge and skills, is essential.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing courteous, confidential, and professional service to all pharmacy customers.
2. Completing an accredited dispenser NVQ 2 training course and any additional training required by the company to ensure high-quality customer service.
3. Ensuring all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and promptly.
4. Carrying out dispensary administrative tasks as applicable.
5. Adhering to Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures, policies, Health and Safety regulations, and legal and ethical requirements.
6. Working as part of a team to develop the profitability of the pharmacy.
Specific Duties:
* Labeling, assembling, and forwarding prescriptions for checking accurately and without delay, following all relevant SOPs.
* Identifying and resolving any prescription anomalies or issues.
* Correctly identifying customers/patients and counseling them on medication use when appropriate.
* Completing all relevant documentation, including register entries and prescription endorsements.
* Coordinating the ordering, collection, and delivery of repeat prescriptions, maintaining records and obtaining patient consent.
* Using NHS Smartcard if available, or a provided Smartcard, for relevant tasks.
* Completing end-of-day/month paperwork promptly, including preparing prescriptions for submission to the PPD.
* Responding politely and efficiently to customer needs, following SOPs for Sale of Medicines and Supporting Self-care, recording advice on PMRs, and taking action if products are unavailable.
* Referring customers to healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, following SOPs for Sign-Posting and recording details on their PMR.
* Following COSHH regulations and handling hazardous goods properly.
* Handling returned medicines, waste, and spillages appropriately.
* Maintaining good housekeeping and the appearance of the pharmacy and surrounding areas.
In return, we offer a base salary of £28,889 per annum.
