ROLE: Health and Safety (QHSE) Manager – National Grid Account
HOURS: 40 hours a week
LOCATION: Midlands (Predominantly), with nationwide site coverage.

We're looking for a Health and Safety (QHSE) Manager – National Grid Account who will be responsible for ensuring our operations across the UK are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with our Integrated Business Management System and current CDM/construction H&S legislation. This role requires regular travel to various sites nationwide, with occasional overnight stays depending on geographical location and project requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Risk Management: Identify and minimise risks to people, property, and the environment. Conduct specialist assessments (COSHH, DSE, and high-risk activities) that fall outside the scope of operational managers.
2. Compliance & Auditing: Perform regular site audits and inspections to ensure adherence to HSE legislation, British Standards, and company policies.
3. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents and near misses, producing detailed statistical reports and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
4. Safety Culture: Act as a visible safety role model, driving a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety briefings, and coaching for site teams.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the QHSE agenda at regional and national meetings, fostering strong relationships with clients and enforcing authorities.
Required Qualifications:
6. Qualifications: NEBOSH Diploma and IOSH membership (Grad status).
7. Experience: Proven experience in a multi site, multi disciplinary organisation, preferably within the Facilities Management/Projects or industrial sectors.
8. Maintain an up to date knowledge of legislation and codes of practice applicable to the company's business.
9. Experience of Integrated Facilities Management sector, particularly Hard or Soft Services where applicable.
