Role: Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication abilities to guide a team toward achieving sales and KPI targets while delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
* Support the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets. Set clear sales goals, track performance, and evolve processes to drive store growth.
* Create a positive team culture through recruitment, training, and ongoing development of staff. Build a motivated, high-performing team to support store success.
* Analyze sales data and financial reports with the Store Manager to identify opportunities and respond to operational and commercial insights.
* Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
* Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries, and resolve complaints professionally.
* Assist with day-to-day operations including opening and closing procedures.
* Support cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
* Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
* Provide feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
* Support the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs
* Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target.
* Drive KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
* Achieve upselling or cross-selling targets.
* Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
* Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
* Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
* Ensure employee engagement results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
* Assist in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
* Passionate about retail with a strong understanding of the latest trends and competitors.
* Experience coaching and developing individuals.
* Strong communication skills.
* Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
* Experience analyzing KPI data to inform commercial decisions.
* Keen eye for detail and commerciality; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
* Demonstrates JD Group values to internal and external stakeholders.
