These posts have arisen from additional funding from the North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) aimed at reducing long waits for children's speech and language therapy assessment and intervention in Barnet and Haringey.
The post holders will be part of the Speech and Language Therapy Teams in Barnet, providing assessment, differential diagnosis, and advice to children with speech, language, and communication difficulties. Caseloads will include children in Early Years and/or Mainstream Schools, depending on experience.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating developmental language disorder and social communication difficulties. Additionally, experience in managing children with syndromes or special educational needs affecting their language development is required.

Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver clinical services, including initial assessments and care packages for children with speech, language, and communication needs within Barnet.
2. Complete assessments, develop individual programmes, implement group therapies, and review outcomes with a functional focus.
3. Collaborate with children, families, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes, providing support and advice.
4. Use evidence-based practices and outcome measures to demonstrate clinical effectiveness.
5. Provide services sensitive to clients from diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
6. Work with educational staff to incorporate speech and language therapy into curriculum planning.
7. Coordinate with Special Needs and Learning Support Services within Barnet.
8. Maintain links with other Speech and Language Therapy teams to ensure smooth transitions across phases.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated SLTs to join our team, offering opportunities for skill development and working with children and families in Barnet and Haringey. This is a 10-month fixed-term role, suitable for current Band 5 or 6 SLTs, with support and training provided for less experienced therapists. Progression from Band 5 to 6 is possible based on performance and competencies.
