Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for a Technical Trainer/Assessor – Electrical to join our Electrical Apprenticeships team at the Slough & Langley College campus. This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position until 31 July 2026, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role pays between Scale L34 (£40,596.00) and L37 (£43,665.00), dependent on skills and experience. Eligible candidates new to Further Education may be able to claim a government incentive payment of up to £6,000.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced electrical professional to deliver high‑quality training, assessment and internal quality assurance across our Electrical Apprenticeship provision. This role involves supporting and assessing apprentices both in the workplace and within a classroom setting, ensuring they develop the technical competence, knowledge and behaviours required to successfully achieve their qualifications and endpoint assessments.
As a Technical Trainer/Assessor you will manage a caseload of apprentices, carry out workplace assessments, conduct progress reviews with employers and provide targeted coaching to drive achievement and timely completion. For candidates with the relevant experience you will also take responsibility for Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), ensuring assessment decisions are consistent, compliant and meet awarding body and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate must have recent industry experience within electrical installation and a strong understanding of apprenticeship standards and assessment practices. Experience of delivering training in a classroom environment is essential. To be considered you must hold one of the following Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications: City & Guilds 8202, 2365, 2330 or 2360, and you must also hold the 18th‑Edition qualification and AM2/AM2S. Holding an A1/CAVA assessor award or a recognised IQA qualification (V1 or IQA Award/Certificate) is a significant advantage.

This role falls within an eligible subject area (Engineering/Building & Construction), so you may be entitled to the Government’s Targeted Retention Incentive Payment for the 2025/26 academic year. Tax‑free payments range between £2,000 and £6,000 (subject to teaching hours and eligibility). Eligibility is open to those who started their first FE teaching role in England during or after the 2021/22 academic year.
