EQUANS is seeking a Highway Inspector to join our team in Grimsby. This permanent, part-time role offers flexible hours, ideally Monday to Wednesday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with a competitive salary ranging from £15,000 to £16,600, depending on skills and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
What will you deliver?
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the local authority fulfills its statutory duties under the Highways Act 1980. This includes inspecting, assessing, and maintaining the highway network to ensure safety, serviceability, and sustainability. Responsibilities include investigating breaches of planning and highway legislation, conducting systematic inspections, prioritizing reactive maintenance, and maintaining accurate records. The role also involves supporting legal defenses, processing insurance claims, engaging with stakeholders, inspecting work compliance, and identifying major improvement needs.
