Assistant Floor Manager at Clays, Birmingham, United Kingdom. The role focuses on supporting the Floor Manager to orchestrate planning, recruitment, and execution for a new Clays location, in collaboration with the General Manager to implement service standards.

Responsibilities
* Operational Management – Oversee daily floor operations, implement standard operating procedures for floor colleagues, ensure health, safety and hygiene compliance, maintain front-of-house equipment, execute service and game delivery per the Clays operations playbook, and coordinate with bar and kitchen for optimal performance.
* Our Clayers – Train and mentor floor colleagues, schedule shifts, promote Clays behaviours and effective communication, support colleague development through Clayers Academy, and ensure policy compliance.
* Guest Experience – Ensure high standards of food and drinks, strive to achieve Clays service standards, monitor guest feedback, engage with colleagues to ensure guest satisfaction, promptly resolve guest issues, and maintain an exceptional game, food and beverage experience.
* Financial Management – Support departmental budgets (labour, F&B, consumables), monitor inventory, and implement cost controls without compromising quality.
* Marketing and Promotion – Collaborate with marketing to develop and promote menus/events, assist content creation for promotions, participate in marketing initiatives, and act as a brand ambassador for Clays.
* Administrative Duties – Ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements, prepare reports, manage floor documentation (recipes, training materials, safety procedures), support safety/hygiene audits, implement Clays policies, and coordinate with local suppliers as per F&B strategy.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in high-volume operational environments; fast-paced, pre-booked settings is desirable.
* Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to engage and develop a team.
* Ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues and guests; initiative and calm problem-solving under pressure.
* Mentorship capability with a track record of developing talent.
* Industry-relevant qualifications (CPL or similar) are desirable but not essential.

* Salary: £30,000 base with on-target earnings up to £38,000 plus Tronc/service charge.
