Care Assistant (DM/IP/2026) Ipswich, England

Salary: GBP14 - GBP14 per hour

Job Title: Care Assistant

Shifts: Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Monday to Thursday).

Looking for 2–3 waking night shifts per week.

Due to the personal care needs of our clients, this role is open to female applicants only. This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you’ll support vulnerable individuals in their own homes, helping them to live safely, independently, and with dignity. You'll assist with a range of tasks, from personal care to emotional support and everyday activities.

In this specific role, you will be supporting an elderly lady who is living with Dementia and Type 2 Diabetes. We are seeking a calm, patient, and reassuring Care Assistant who will be highly proactive during these waking night shifts to ensure her comfort, safety, and well‑being throughout the night.

* Full theoretical and practical training to support skills and development

* Ongoing support from Office Team, Registered Managers, and Clinical Nursing staff
* Weekly pay (PAYE or umbrella options available)

Your responsibilities will include:

* Personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care through the night)
* Dementia support, providing a calm and orienting presence during periods of confusion
* Monitoring and managing wellbeing, with specific attention to Type 2 Diabetes management
* Mobility and manual handling support
* Monitoring and recording vital signs (after training)
* Companionship and emotional support
* Medication support (where trained)
* Light household tasks (cleaning, laundry)
* Following care plans and maintaining precise, proactive night‑time records

Who We're Looking For

* A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience.
* Experience with Dementia care and Type 2 Diabetes management is highly preferred.
* A calm, proactive demeanor suited for dedicated waking night support.
* Complex Care experience preferred, but not a mandatory need.
