The Vacancy
Are you passionate about delivering care that truly makes a difference?
We're looking for dedicated Health Care Support Workers to join our Adult Inpatient Services team at Dougie Mac.
Our 28-bed specialist unit supports adults with life-limiting conditions, offering both palliative and end-of-life care. You'll be part of a 24/7 multidisciplinary team, ensuring patients receive outstanding holistic care in a calm, supportive environment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Provide high-quality personal and physical care to patients
* Support individuals and their families with dignity and compassion
* Observe and report any changes in patient condition
* Assist in the last days of life care and bereavement support
* Follow individual care plans and maintain accurate documentation
* Uphold hospice values, infection control and confidentiality standards
* Engage in training and continuous development opportunities

Essential:
* Experience in a caring or healthcare role
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Team player who can also work independently
* Flexible to work a variety of day and night shifts
* Numeracy and literacy skills (GCSEs or equivalent or willingness to work towards)
Desirable:
* NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
* Experience in palliative care or hospice settings
* Confidence working with patients and families in a clinical environment
