About The Role
The Fashion and Textiles Institute is seeking an Associate Lecturer primarily for the BA(Hons) Fashion Photography course, with opportunities to teach on the BA(Hons) Fashion Styling & Art Direction program. You will foster a supportive, innovative learning environment that encourages creativity. The successful candidate will enhance the reputation of Falmouth University and contribute to course delivery through inspiring and supportive learning experiences, creating a stimulating environment for students and colleagues alike. The role aims to strengthen professional, academic, and research partnerships, ensuring the course adapts to the evolving needs of the global fashion communication industry, commerce, and society.
We seek a creative, highly motivated individual with experience in enabling diverse student cohorts to explore fashion image-making and reach their full potential.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess extensive contemporary industry practice, supported by a substantial portfolio that may include: Fashion Photography, Fashion Filmmaking, Art Direction, New Technologies/Digital Spaces, or Publishing Editing for leading fashion editorial publications and brands. Your knowledge and experience in creative fashion storytelling within diverse and contemporary contexts are essential. You should demonstrate broad knowledge of multicultural/global fashion and recognize its importance as a visionary 21st-century practitioner.
Additionally, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
* Advanced practical and artistic skills in contemporary fashion image-making and art direction.
* Excellent communication skills and proficiency with digital media, including Adobe Creative Suite and Capture One.
* Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with colleagues and students, sharing your expertise.
