Role Title: Network Architect
Duration: contract to run until 30/10/2026
Location: Knutsford, hybrid 3 days per week onsite
Rate: up to £543.45 p/d Umbrella inside IR35
Role purpose / summary
The Network Architect ensures the design and governance of secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity across cloud and on‑premise environments. The role focuses on network segmentation, firewalling, routing, and containment patterns to support secure operational states.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design network architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments, ensuring secure connectivity and operational stability.
2. Define firewall rulesets, segmentation patterns, and isolation design across multiple zones.
3. Enable containment strategies to support cyber resilience, including rapid isolation, controlled recovery, and blast-radius reduction.
4. Oversee routing, load balancing, VPN/ExpressRoute, and secure edge patterns.
5. Validate network changes through governance, assurance, and architectural review.
6. Collaborate with Security, Identity, and Infrastructure teams to ensure network designs align with Zero Trust principles.
7. Conduct capacity planning, performance optimisation, and telemetry integration.
Technical Components:
Strong expertise in firewalls, WAFs, proxying, micro‑segmentation, network monitoring, and packet inspection.
Experience designing network topologies including hub-and-spoke, mesh, private endpoints, and SD‑WAN.
Familiarity with network security and resilience certifications, compliance, and best practice frameworks.
