Heavy Civils (Civil Engineering / Infrastructure)
Role Overview
We are working with a well-established contractor who is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support their Northern operations.
This is a hybrid role, split between office, site, and home working, with an initial project based in Stoke. The position would suit someone based within a commutable distance of both Tamworth and Stoke.
Key responsibilities
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility across projects, supporting delivery teams to ensure financial performance and contractual compliance.
* Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
* Producing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
* Reviewing and analysing subcontractor quotations.
* Preparing and issuing subcontract payments and certifications.
* Carrying out cost reporting and forecasting.
* Identifying and managing commercial risks.
* Supporting dispute resolution where required.
* Ensuring compliance with contractual, quality, and safety standards.
About You
To be considered, you should have a solid commercial background within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Requirements
* Experience working on heavy civils schemes.
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
* Confident managing subcontractors and commercial processes.
* Good communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong numeracy and IT capability.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
