About the role
As the market leader in the UK fresh prepared food industry, we supply meals, salads, desserts, pizza, and bread to leading grocery retailers including Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury's, and Waitrose. Our site employs over 700 people and specializes in chilled Italian ready meals and pasta salads for a dedicated customer base.
You will ensure the smooth transition of product concepts to launch, maintaining technical and quality standards while maximizing profitability. You will challenge current factory processes, seek improvements and efficiencies, and value engineering.
Role Accountabilities
1. Undertake trials in line with Bakkavor and customer requirements, as instructed by Line Manager.
2. Document all trial data comprehensively for future review, including shelf-life and organoleptic data, to establish process capabilities and support due diligence.
3. Secure and submit appropriate samples for analysis, such as microbiological, organoleptic, and transit trials.
4. Plan and organize resources to ensure the timely delivery of trials in line with project schedules.
5. Work with NPD and Operations to establish quality attributes for work in progress, assembly, and finished products, considering operational capabilities.
6. Carry out ongoing process validation of relevant factory equipment to meet site due diligence requirements.
7. Coordinate pre-production and launch preparations.
8. Contribute to post-launch process evaluations with NPD, ensuring established processes remain valid for full-scale production, and implement improvements as necessary.
9. Operate safely and support continuous improvement initiatives related to health, safety, and environmental standards.
