Walk For A Cureis a series of walks set in some of the most beautiful locations in the UK. At this event, walkers will tackle a 13, 21 or 42km hike through the Peak District, in order toraise money for vital dementia research.
Alzheimer’s Research UK are looking for volunteersto help make this a fantastic occasion, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
What you could be doing:
* Helping people get parked
* Welcoming walkers and handing out t-shirts on arrival
* Running a 'support point' - giving out food and drinks to walkers
* Marshalling the route to keep walkers on the right path
* Handing out medals at the finish line
* Photography
When:Saturday 13th September.
Times: This is an all day event. The earliest time you could be asked to start would be 6:30am. The latest available start time would be 10:30am.
The earliest available finish time would be 3:30pm. The latest finish time would be 7:30pm.
Shift lengths and times will vary depending on roles.
Where:The event will start and finish at Carsington Water Visitors Centre, Big Lane, Ashbourne, DE6 1ST. Parking is available for volunteers.
PLEASE NOTE:The location of this event isnot accessible via public transport.
Please only register to volunteer if you are able to drive, and will have access to your own vehicle on the day.
You will also need to travel around the route on the day.
Alzheimer's Research UK will reimburse reasonable out of pocket expenses such as travel, within agreed guidelines.
