We’re looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach / Area Manager to lead our popular holiday camp in Banbury and help launch our brand-new site in Bicester. This is a hands-on role delivering fun sports sessions, leading a team of coaches and helping grow one of the area’s most exciting children's activity programmes.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach / Area Manager to help run our children's holiday camps in Banbury and our brand-new site in Bicester.
You’ll act as Head Coach at one camp, while supporting the overall running and development of both locations. During school holidays you’ll be delivering activities, leading staff and ensuring camps run safely and smoothly. During term time the focus shifts to after-school clubs, PE support, birthday parties and school fairs.
Planning ahead for upcoming camp delivery, leading on recruitment of high-quality coaching staff, and driving the growth of the programme through the development of strong partnerships with schools and local businesses. This includes proactively identifying new opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring each camp is well-resourced, well-promoted, and positioned for long-term success.
This is a varied role that combines coaching, leadership and business development.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily operations at holiday sports camps in Banbury and Bicester
* Deliver fun and engaging multi-sport and activity sessions for children
* Manage and support a team of seasonal coaches
* Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are maintained
* Recruit, onboard and train seasonal staff
* Manage registers, rotas and camp documentation
* Help grow the programme through clubs, birthday parties, school PE support and further camp opportunities.
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children in sport, education or activity settings
* Experience leading or supervising staff
* Strong organisation and communication skills
* Confident delivering activities to groups of children
* Good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
Bonus experience (not essential):
* Holiday camps or activity programmes
* Recruitment or sales experience
* Coaching or sports leadership qualification
* Paediatric First Aid or Safeguarding training
Additional Information
* Average 40 hours per week across the year
* Salary £30-£35k
* School holidays focused on camp delivery
* Term time focused on planning, recruitment and programme/area development
Licence/Certification:
Level 2/3 Coaching or Teaching Qualification (preferred)
All roles are subject to Enhanced DBS clearance.
