Oxleas are looking for a motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic, supportive, and driven Greenwich Community Paediatric team, committed to delivering the best care for our patients. We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Consultant in Community Paediatrics.

This is a full-time post, but part-time applicants are welcome (6-10 PAs).
You should be an enthusiastic and innovative clinician with the vision to develop new models of working in response to increasing and changing community-based demands.
Wider experience in General Paediatric conditions, with working knowledge of conditions including Epilepsy and Neurological disorders, is desirable. These conditions will typically be managed by the acute team with tertiary support and MDT involvement.
You are expected to have Full GMC registration with a License to Practice in the UK.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing and pursuing a special interest in Community Paediatrics, with multidisciplinary and multiagency teamwork as an essential component of our children’s service.
2. Developing skills and expertise in leading service areas of interest.
3. Attending and supporting in-house tertiary (outreach) clinics and liaising with tertiary colleagues.
4. Teaching and providing clinical supervision to trainees and non-training grades of Community Paediatricians.
5. Continuing professional development through participation in departmental and peer review sessions.
6. No out-of-hours on-call commitment; contribution to the daytime weekly child protection rota.

Our recruitment and retention strategy includes offering all Consultants and SAS doctors regular, structured mentoring by professionally trained mentors.
Key duties include:
1. Providing assessment and case management of children and young people with complex neuro-disability and special needs, including those in Special Needs Schools in the Borough. The Consultant will have overall responsibility for their caseload, which may include children across the borough or out of borough, registered under a Greenwich GP.
2. Providing clinical input to multi-disciplinary clinics for children with complex disabilities and special needs. This includes assessment and management of children with ASD and ADHD.
3. Participating in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings for children with complex disabilities and special needs.
