Production Manager Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Location: Bury St Edmunds Salary: £50,000 PA About the Role We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Production Manager to join this well-established precision machining, welding, fabrication engineering company located in the Bury St. Edmunds area. The Production Manager will oversee and continuously improve day-to-day manufacturing operations. This is a key role within a well-established manufacturing environment, responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, effective material control, and on-time delivery. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in CNC machining and/or fabrication, along with strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. This role offers a clear pathway to a future Director-level position following a successful period of service and performance. Key Responsibilities Process sales orders accurately into the MRP system. Manage materials and stock requirements, preparing purchase orders with appropriate delivery lead times. Monitor and maintain production schedules to ensure products are delivered on time. Use MRP/ERP systems to track production data, manage orders, and support operational reporting. Work collaboratively with internal teams to align production plans and resolve workflow issues. Experience & Skills Required Proven experience in a production control or similar manufacturing role (essential). Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (training available if required). Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with high attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles. Background in CNC machining and/or fabrication is highly advantageous.
