Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a well-established, multidisciplinary property consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in Cambridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take the next step in their career within a respected consultancy environment, working across a varied portfolio of projects including residential, rural, commercial, and strategic land developments.
You will play a key role in managing planning applications from inception through to determination, providing clear and commercially focused planning advice to a wide range of clients including landowners, developers, and private individuals.
The Role
* Managing a range of planning applications and appeals
* Preparing planning appraisals and development strategies
* Undertaking detailed planning policy analysis
* Preparing Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, and supporting documentation
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and stakeholders
* Attending site visits, client meetings, and planning committees where required
* Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
Requirements
* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
* MRTPI qualified (or working towards Chartership)
* Previous experience within a private consultancy or local authority environment
* Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and development management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
* Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
