The Learning Resources Center (LRC) is an integral part of the academic units that report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The LRC advances the mission of the college through the comprehensive, readily accessible collection of VPCC curriculum related informational materials, instructional technologies, and other academic support services that meet the educational needs of students, faculty, and staff.
Acts as embedded tutor for assigned English classes. Attends class regularly, providing individual and small group instruction, assistance, and resources to currently enrolled students in math and/or writing courses. Holds individual and group appointments with students outside of scheduled class hours. Works closely with faculty to plan class activities, exchange feedback, and troubleshoot situations.
This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of employment is based on funding availability.
This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (Clery Act) and Responsible Employee (Title IX).Minimum Qualifications:· Demonstrated writing teaching and/or tutorial experience at the high school or two-year college level.
· Experience working with adult learners and underserved populations.
· Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard
Knowledge:· Demonstrated understanding of competency in composition and rhetoric; experience with English, English education, or related Liberal Arts programs preferred.
· Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software, databases and electronic communications.
