Due to continued growth, Escape’s established engineering client is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their busy purchasing team.
This is a hands-on role responsible for sourcing materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, placing purchase orders and ensuring on-time delivery to support operational and build requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
* Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules
* Place and manage purchase orders through to delivery
* Ensure materials and services are sourced cost-effectively and on time
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues
* Work closely with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements
* Support sourcing and tender activities where required
* Maintain accurate data within the ERP system
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
* Proven experience in a Buyer / Purchasing role within an engineering, automotive or maritime industry
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing priorities
* Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
* Experience using ERP or procurement systems
* Supportive team player
