Role Purpose This role plays a key part in supporting Quality Assurance within our Advanced Detection Systems business. You will help maintain world-class quality standards for our RTT X-ray systems used in high-security screening applications. The position focuses on proactive quality culture development, early engagement in the product lifecycle, and ensuring that our products, processes, and suppliers consistently meet stringent regulatory, industry, and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Compliance Support all aspects of Quality Assurance with a focus on proactive, preventive quality initiatives. Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements. Manage the internal audit programme, conduct audits, and ensure timely corrective actions. Assist with third-party surveillance audits and customer audits. Produce Quality Plans in alignment with customer contract requirements from manufacturing through service life. Product Development & Engineering Support Work closely with Engineering during Product Development and New Product Introduction (NPI). Participate in Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Change Control Board (CCB), and design deviation processes. Ensure test processes, procedures, and inspection documentation reflect latest engineering changes. Review and approve Deviations, VFBs, ECOs, Tube Acceptance Reports, and product Certificates of Conformity. Manufacturing Quality & Continuous Improvement Support large machine assembly and testing activities to ensure compliance and product integrity. Create processes, procedures, controls, inspection sheets, and documentation to support production quality. Oversee and execute calibration system management for tools, gauges, and measurement devices. Conduct product verification activities including Goods Inward Inspection, Radiation Surveys, Software Checks, IVT, and packing checks. Lead Customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). Provide root cause analysis, containment, corrective action, and issue resolution for quality failures. Support Material Review Board (MRB) and scrap disposition processes. Supplier Quality & Documentation Control Collaborate with Supplier Quality to review and approve supplier First Article Inspection (FAI) reports. Assist with incoming inspection requirements and supplier-related quality improvement actions. Maintain quality records, inspection data, and controlled documents within the QMS. Data & Performance Analysis Monitor and report Quality KPIs, analysing trends to drive reduction in cost of poor quality (COPQ). Lead or support quality improvement programmes using Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, and SPS methodologies. Required Skills & Experience 35 years experience in a Quality Assurance role, ideally in a low-volume, high-value electromechanical manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS maintenance. Experience with mechanical measurement tools; CMM or FARO arm experience is advantageous. Strong background in calibration systems, documentation control, and inspection processes. Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, 8D, 5S, Minitab, or similar toolsets. Experience with NPI, ECO processes, deviation controls, and engineering change management. Ability to read technical drawings; GD&T knowledge is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; experience with ERP systems (D365 preferred). Qualifications Degree or equivalent in Quality, Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline (preferred).
