Job Summary
For our Italian Restaurant, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chef to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food preparation, and a solid background in kitchen operations. Duties
* Assist the Head Chef in preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes in line with restaurant standards
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to health and safety regulations
* Oversee food production processes, ensuring efficiency and quality control throughout all stages of preparation
* Support team management by organising work schedules and delegating tasks effectively
* Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and excellent customer service
* Assist in training new team members, sharing culinary knowledge and best practices
* Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Requirements
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations within a hospitality or restaurant setting
* Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Demonstrable leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members
* Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with colleagues and front-of-house staff
* A passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and presentation
* Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality is preferred
