Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Completed Care Certificate or equivalent experience
2. Level 3 Health Care qualification/apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience or completion of HCSW competency-based workbook .
3. Functional skills minimum Level 1 Maths and English or GCSE or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
4. Further qualifications and training relevant and required by the speciality of this post
5. Competencies for existing substantive HCSW
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
6. Experience of working in Acute Hospital setting or care background, in a HCSW role or equivalent
7. Experience of delivering personal care to patients
8. Experience of using computers or willing to undertake training in local computer systems
9. Knowledge of basic IT systems or willing to undertake training
10. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of data protection and health and safety issue
Desirable criteria
11. Evidence of continuing professional development
12. Competently perform a range if the core skills relevant to the area of speciality
