Job Description
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The Senior Director, Head of Global Security leads the enterprise security strategy to protect the organization’s people, assets, intellectual property, clinical research, and global operations. This role provides leadership and operational oversight across physical security, executive protection, threat intelligence, supply chain security, insider threat, security training and awareness, and workplace violence prevention.
Operating within a regulated MedTech environment, the role ensures security programs enable business continuity, safeguard sensitive information and clinical trials, and support safe operations across global facilities, partners, and manufacturing sites. The position partners closely with Legal, Compliance, HR, IT, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Clinical Operations, Facilities Management, Communications, and Executive Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and execute the global security strategy aligned with business objectives and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
* Establish security governance, policies, and standards across global operations.
* Provide executive-level reporting on security risks, incidents, and program performance.
* Oversee global physical security programs across offices, laboratories, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers.
* Establish, implement and oversee site security standards, post orders, and operating procedures related to access controls, guard force operations, surveillance systems, and perimeter security.
* Oversee site risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and mitigation plans, ensuring site security programs and strategic partners support regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement of site security capabilities through technology modernization, metrics, audits, and lessons learned from incidents and exercises.
* Lead executive protection and duty-of-care programs, including executive travel and major events.
* Direct global threat intelligence and risk analysis covering geopolitical, activist, cyber, physical, and reputational risks.
* Develop and oversee supply chain and third‑party security programs to protect product integrity and operations.
* Lead insider threat and workplace violence prevention programs in partnership with HR, Legal, and Cyber Security.
* Oversee enterprise security technologies and long‑term modernization initiatives.
* Direct security incident response, investigations, and crisis support activities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in Security, Risk Management, Intelligence, Business, or related field
* 12+ years of progressive experience leading global corporate security program. 10+ years in law enforcement/miliary preferred.
* Demonstrated experience leading site security programs across complex environments such as manufacturing plants, laboratories, R&D campuses, and distribution facilities.
* Demonstrated strong People Leadership through leading and developing diverse teams, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Managed performance evaluations, goal setting, and professional growth opportunities for direct reports.
* Successfully resolved conflicts and implemented process improvements to enhance team productivity.
* Experienced in hiring, interviewing, and selecting top talent to build high‑performing teams.
* Experience in regulated industries such as MedTech, Pharma, Healthcare, or Manufacturing preferred
* Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders
* Professional certifications preferred (CPP, PSP, PCI)
