Band 7 Clinical Lead Nurse - Community Autism Team

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Band 7 Clinical Lead Nurse to join our community Autism services covering Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland.

The role is split across three services: 0.6 WTE within our Specialist Autism Team (SAT), supporting service users aged 14 and above to understand their diagnosis, its impact, and how their individual needs can be supported.

There will be opportunities to work directly with service users, facilitate group workshops, and liaise with colleagues across Health, Social Care, and Education. The SAT is a multidisciplinary team, and you will be part of the leadership team alongside colleagues from Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. You will be responsible for line managing the Nursing team and supporting day-to-day decision-making.

The remaining 0.4 WTE is within our Adult Autism Assessment Service (AAAS), conducting Autism Assessments for service users aged 18 and above. For this role, you should be qualified and experienced in undertaking ADOS assessments, both face-to-face and via MS Teams. You will also support the Teams Operational Manager and provide supervision to staff as needed. A background in Mental Health or Learning Disability nursing is advantageous.

Main Duties of the Job

1. Manage and take overall responsibility for care quality, performance, and clinical activity by providing professional nursing leadership, guidance, clinical advice, and management related to healthcare quality dimensions: patient safety, effectiveness of interventions, and patient experience.
2. Ensure the delivery of a clinically effective service that meets the needs of individuals, families, and communities, aligned with local and national development plans, Trust policies, and procedures.
3. Develop specialist care interventions and care plans.
4. Foster a culture of networking with internal and external multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
5. Perform and monitor comprehensive assessments of clients'/service users' needs.
6. Plan, implement, and evaluate care delivery according to changing healthcare needs.
7. Take continuous management responsibility for delivering specialist care to individuals and groups of clients/service users.
8. Promote involvement and engagement of clients, service users, and carers/relatives in assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care.

This is a hybrid role with opportunities to work from Trust offices and remotely.
