Support Medical Secretary

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service, including inpatient and outpatient waiting list management, medical secretary functions for Cardiothoracic consultants, communication of appointments and admission related information, and typing correspondence within performance targets.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based at a UHNM site and have a consultant(s) allocated to them. They will also provide support for the MDT Co‑ordinator.
The post holder will support the Team Leader Medical Secretary in delivering a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team, including managing appointments and admissions, and typing correspondence.
Additional duties include office tasks such as typing letters, clinic alterations, answering telephone calls, using software packages such as Microsoft Office, Careflow, IPortal, and other office‑based duties. (This is not an exhaustive list.)
Role
We are looking to appoint a Medical Secretary/MDT Co‑ordinator to join the Diabetes and Endocrinology Secretarial team. The role requires experience in administration duties and dealing with members of the public.

Qualifications
* 5 or more GCSE A-C or equivalent
Experience
* Experience with UHNM hospital systems
* Secretarial/clerical background
* 2 years experience in an administration role
* Experience working as part of a team
* RTT & pathways
* Audio typing experience
Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office package
* Ability to prioritise workload in response to service need
* Knowledge of medical terminology
