GSL Education’s North Yorkshire branch is seeking for a Cover Supervisor to work at a Client Secondary School located 13 miles north of York, North Yorkshire, to start as soon as possible. You will provide cover for absent teachers, delivering pre-planned lessons and managing student behaviour, across the curriculum. This role is perfect for individuals with experience in education, training, or youth work, looking to gain further classroom experience.

* Supervise classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
* Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
* Manage pupil behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
* Support students with any questions or problems during lessons.
* Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.
* Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
* Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Previous experience in an educational or training role (teaching experience desirable but not essential).
* Empathise with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
* A passion for education and supporting young people.
* Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
