How You Will Make An Impact
1. Triage, troubleshoot & resolve front line production support alerts and tickets.
2. Monitor high traffic systems responsible for operations including applications, containers, middleware, physical hardware & databases.
3. Have a systematic, test and measure approach to continually improving operations & monitoring
4. Understand Web Service API’s, Internet architecture, & common client-server technology stacks
5. Provide a high level of customer experience to our internal and external stakeholders
6. Work closely with third parties, interacting with many of our partners such as Visa, MasterCard, and American Express to resolve platform issues
7. Be a confident communicator, leading telephone or video call’s with internal teams & external partners
8. Supporting new Apple Pay projects when launched
9. Have previous production or application support experience preferably with large-scale distributed systems
What You Will Need To Succeed
10. Proficiency handling incident management & problem management at an application support level
11. Experience troubleshooting, analysing log files & resolving technical problems with java-based applications in a fast-paced environment
12. Experience using the Splunk software platform (or similar analytical tool) preferable
13. Hands-on knowledge with one or more monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, AppDynamics etc. highly preferred
14. Understanding of KPI’s, metrics and SLO’s
15. An exceptionally high level of attention to detail
16. Self-motivated, with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
17. Competency in one or more coding or scripting languages (i.e., one or more of Python/Ansible/Go/Bash/Ruby) advantageous but not mandatory
18. Experience automating manual tasks
19. Knowledge of version control tools such as Git or SVN will be useful
20. Effective verbal and written communication skills
21. Most importantly, a passion for ensuring our customers and stakeholders always get the very best possible experience .
