Project Engineer Job Description
Our client, a leading local engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for career advancement.
Main Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are met.
2. Source suppliers based on the bill of materials and engineering specifications, liaising with design engineers for alternatives when necessary.
3. Purchase equipment in compliance with budget and company procedures.
4. Distribute documentation and drawings to subcontractors, ensuring correct revisions are available for fabrication or assembly.
5. Visit subcontractors' premises regularly to coordinate and review production.
6. Work with the design team to meet specifications and conduct quality checks prior to handover.
7. Ensure FAT tests and quality checks are performed, documented, and snags cleared before products leave for site.
8. Coordinate site preparation activities, including surveys, haulage, health & safety documentation, lifting equipment, labor, commissioning, testing, and client handover.
9. Prepare, schedule, and monitor projects, following document control processes.
10. Communicate effectively with clients and project participants, interpreting needs and presenting solutions.
11. Manage contracts, including producing and responding to compensation events, early warning notices, and quotes.
Candidate Requirements
* Engineering qualification with relevant experience as an engineer.
* Knowledge of SolidWorks / AutoCAD and project experience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel across the UK for projects.
