Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth across two of our established scrap metal and waste management sites in North-East Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will identify, negotiate, and secure new scrap metal sales and purchase opportunities while also managing and developing relationships with existing clients.
This role requires travel across the North-East Lincolnshire region and the ability to work independently, while effectively co-ordination with onsite managers and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities across B2B scrap metal, commercial waste management and skip hire
* Identify and cultivate growth areas across key regional B2B sectors.
* Develop and deliver professional proposals and other new business collateral
* Build and maintain an effective sales pipeline
* Build and maintain strong relationships with our onsite Managers and teams
* Provide effective account management to existing clients
* Weekly reporting
* Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, pricing structures, and competitor activity.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety requirements
Skills & Experience
* Proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within scrap metal, waste recycling, or a related industry
* Strong negotiation and contract development experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
* Ability to work independently and take initiative while being a strong team collaborator
* Highly organised, with strong reporting and pipeline management abilities
* Full UK driving license with willingness to travel extensively across the region
