Seashell Trust provides care and education for children and young people with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders, and autism. Based in Cheadle Hulme, we provide education, care, therapy, and outreach services, and are undergoing an exciting campus transformation, including a new college build.
We're looking for an experienced and passionate leader to join our well-established Seashell Active team as a Physical Activity and Health Manager. This is a key role within our inclusive health and wellbeing provision, supporting children, young people, and adults with complex needs and disabilities across our School, College, residential homes, and the wider community.
The Physical Activity and Health Manager role is a unique opportunity to:
* Lead and coordinate the delivery of inclusive physical activity services, including aquatics, cycling, and health & fitness.
* Manage a team of development officers and oversee the operation of Seashell's state-of-the-art facilities: swimming pool, hydro pool, fitness suite, cycle centre, and 3G football pitch.
* Plan and promote a varied timetable of activities and events for students, residents, staff, and community users.
* Ensure services are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Seashell's strategic vision.
* Monitor performance, budgets, and service impact, reporting to the Head of Active.
* Support staff development through training needs analysis and coordination with Learning & Development.
What We're Looking For
* Certificate in Leisure Management or NVQ Level 3 equivalent
* RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification or willingness to obtain
* Level 3 Pool Plant qualification or willingness to obtain
* Experience in sports development and managing budgets
* Proven ability to lead and motivate teams
* Knowledge of IFI, TILS or similar accreditations
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation in leisure
* Leadership, motivational and team-building skills
* Understanding of how physical activity services operate
Desirable
* Degree in a relevant subject
* IOSH Managing Safely
* RLSS National Pool Manager qualification
* Experience working with individuals with complex needs and disabilities
* Knowledge of exercise services for long-term health conditions
* Understanding of Learn to Swim frameworks and water wellbeing
* Knowledge of inclusive cycling initiatives and community cycle clubs
