Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Agency Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of nursing experience, including acute care, long-term care, and specialized medical fields. As an Agency Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with healthcare regulations. Your expertise will be essential in delivering compassionate care to patients with varying needs.
Duties
* Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in diverse environments, including hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient facilities.
* Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on medical history and current health status.
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including case management and discharge planning.
* Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
* Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for efficient patient management.
* Perform specialized procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, suturing, and dialysis as needed.
* Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-care instructions.
* Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
* Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner) for efficient documentation and patient management.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to patient care.
* Strong clinical skills in areas such as critical care transport, trauma medicine, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.
* Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate medical documentation.
* Proficient in performing procedures including phlebotomy, venipuncture, airway management, tube feeding, and ostomy care.
* Ability to work effectively with patients across various demographics including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
