Principal Planning Officer - Strategic Sites (Fixed Term up to 24 months) X 2
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic professional to join its busy Planning Development Team. You will be responsible for dealing with a caseload of interesting and complex planning applications for strategic sites coming forward and responding to pre-application enquiries in relation to proposed development queries.
You will need a minimum of six years Planning Development experience to include appeals experience, attendance at committee and experience of managing complex applications. You will need to be extremely organised, able to take responsibility for your own work and at the same time contribute to the overall team performance. You will need to be familiar with managing Planning Performance Agreements, leading multi-disciplinary project teams and ensuring agreed outcomes are met.
Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills are essential as is the ability to deliver high quality advice in a timely manner and efficiently manage a caseload of applications. Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, planning policy and guidance are also required.

Based at the Civic Offices in Basingstoke, near to the Top of Town, you would report directly to the Assistant Planning Manager.
