Weare excited to offer a new opportunity for an experienced, motivated PharmacyTechnician to join our expanding Pharmacy Clinical Trials Service as a Band 6Specialist Technician - Systems Manager.
Thisspecialist role is central to strengthening the digital systems andadministrative foundations of our clinical trials service. As the number andcomplexity of research studies increases, we are investing in roles thatimprove compliance, enhance efficiency and maximise clinical trialsremuneration and this post is a key part of that strategy.
Thiscross-site post covers LGI, St Jamess and Chapel Allerton Hospital, providingleadership and expertise in data management, invoicing processes andadministrative workflow. This role is ideal for someone who enjoysproblem-solving, digital systems, quality improvement and leading others.
Experiencein clinical trials is desirable but not essential as training and support willbe provided.
Thisrole is ideal for technicians who want to broaden their portfolio beyonddispensary operations and step into a technically specialist leadership post.
Main duties of the job
Inthis role you will
Lead on the development, maintenanceand optimisation of clinical trials tracking systems
Strengthen financial governance bydeveloping robust invoicing processes
Line manage, support and develop thePharmacy Clinical Trials administrative team
Standardise processes across theservice, driving quality and consistency
Produce reports, trackers and datasummaries to support capacity planning and strategic service decisions
Review and implement Protocolmodifications in line with regulatory and Sponsor requirements
Work closely with Research &Innovation, Sponsors and pharmacy colleagues
Manage the clinical trialsdispensaries on a sessional basis
Thisrole provides an excellent opportunity to shape how we work and contributedirectly to the safe and effective delivery of high-quality clinical trials.
Youwill also work closely with our Band 6 Clinical Trials Dispensary Managers,ensuring the timely review and implementation of protocol modifications andsupporting our dispensary teams to deliver a high-quality medicines supplyservice.
Candidatesshould be confident in managing documentation, data quality and processgovernance. You should be able to work autonomously and prioritise a variedworkload.

Job responsibilities
Worksunder guidance of SOPs, GMP and COSHH. Works independently and manages othersin the department. Works to agreed objectives with annual appraisal withoperational lead. Provides specialist technical service to wards, departmentsand out-patients.
Maintain high professional standardsat all times and ensure compliance with statutory regulations concerningpharmaceuticals and the provision of the Health and Safety at work act arecomplied with.
Responsible for recruitment andselection of technical staff to assigned area.
Responsible for training andsupporting all grades off staff designated to area
Line management and appraisal forstaff ensuring opportunities for personal development
Involvement in writing proceduresrelating to the service in conjunction with other appropriate staff andmanagers. Delivery and implementation of agreed procedures and monitorcompliance with all SOPs
Ensure departmental work is completedwithin agreed timescales
Manage resources within department
Ensure quality monitoring is carriedout and reported appropriately :ie error monitoring ,environmental controls andturnaround times
Provide monthly statistics onworkload
Develop and lead a team of staff
Identify training needs of staff anddevise individual training plans
Act as Key Trainer for your areaensuring all staff are trained in safe practices
Contribute to service developmentsensuring change is managed smoothly
Assist in auditing the serviceagainst set targets
Arrange pilot schemes to assessbenefits of new ways of working
Develop an induction & trainingpackage for area
Participate in accuracy checkingtraining sessions
Prioritise workload and analysesituations to resolve problems
To participate in labelling,assembly, preparation, dispensing and other dispensing duties should the needarise to ensure service provision.
Ensures accurate documentation andrecords are maintained within the service area
To coordinate cover for annual leaveand lieu time
To manage absence levels of staff andbe involved in return to work interviews and adherence to Trust Absencemanagement policy
To deal with initial grievance anddisciplinary issues for designated staff. Communicate with Operational Lead atall times and refer issue if unresolved.
Identify and implement risk reductionstrategies in your area of work.
Participation in the weekend and bankholiday rotas on a rotational basis
