Main duties of the job We are recruiting to a Band 5 role within the well-established and growing Paediatric Neuro Sleep Service, working on the cutting edge of diagnostic sleep medicine. You will be a physiologist or nurse with a keen interest in neurological sleep disorders. You will share responsibility for our home sleep study services during office hours, and record PSG studies on night shifts. Training on procedures, policies, equipment and software will be provided. The Southampton Children’s Hospital specialist sleep service is one of only a handful of comprehensive paediatric sleep centres in the UK and services a large geographical area. The neuro sleep physiology team facilitates both home and inpatient sleep studies. We have a skill mix of professionals in our service including neurology and sleep medicine consultants, sleep fellows, clinical nurse specialists, sleep physiologists and sleep practitioners and technician(s). You will help manage the home sleep service in coordination with the other Sleep Technicians and Physiologists in the team. You will work a minimum of three night shifts per month recording PSG studies. You will analyse and provide specialist interpretation of sleep study results for clinicians, commensurate with competence and experience.
