SEN Trainee Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working under the guidance of experienced educators to support children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. You will assist in the classroom, help manage behaviour, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment tailored to each pupil’s needs.
This role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in education and receive training and support from Vision for Education and the partner school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis under the direction of the class teacher.
2. Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities.
3. Promote inclusion and encourage the participation of pupils in classroom activities.
4. Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
5. Support the personal development and well-being of pupils.
About You:
6. A genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
7. Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
8. A willingness to learn and undertake training.
9. Previous experience in a care, support, or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
10. A clear enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
