Position: Sous Chef

Salary: From £38,000 to £40,000 (base salary) + service charge, depending on experience
We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our talented kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef to step into a key leadership role within a high-performing, progressive kitchen environment. As a Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, leading your team, and ensuring our dishes are executed to the highest standards. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior chefs, managing service, and contributing to the development of seasonal menus.
Salary & Progression:
* Competitive salary range from £38,000 to £40,000, based on experience.
* Additional service charge (average £6,000).

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage your section, ensuring dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standard.
* Assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchen alongside the Head Chef, maintaining a high level of organisation.
* Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, and food safety standards are upheld at all times.
* Train and mentor junior chefs, providing guidance and development opportunities.
* Contribute to menu creation, developing new dishes with seasonal, sustainable ingredients.
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and health & safety standards.
* Foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment, where creativity and quality are at the forefront.
* Support sustainability initiatives and ethical sourcing practices aligned with our B Corp mission.
What We’re Looking For:
* A passionate chef with strong experience in high-quality kitchens, ideally with previous Sous Chef experience.
* A calm, organised approach to managing a busy kitchen environment.
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* An eye for detail and consistency in food presentation and execution.
* A passion for seasonal, sustainable produce and ethical sourcing.
* Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high standard of service.
