Job Description
We currently have a permanent Technical Operative vacancy covering all areas of Fife, providing a service to various agencies. Working as part of a team based at Bankhead Central covering Fife wide, this demanding role requires a dedicated and skilled professional.
Technical Operatives provide a specialist internal and external cleaning service across the Council and its partners. This includes fast-response emergency call-out service during and outside normal working hours. Operatives may be required to be part of an on‑call rota as and when required.
Responsibilities
* Perform initial risk assessment prior to each job to identify any risks within the building or area, including signs of needle/drug use, and perform a full needle sweep where required.
* Clean up biohazards, including bodily fluids such as faeces and blood, and perform fumigation of premises for fleas using specialist chemicals.
* Clear and clean domestic premises, gardens, sheds and garages for Housing and Social Work, including removal of unwanted items, disinfection, deep cleaning, and reporting any valuable items found.
* Work alone or as part of a team to provide a regular and effective service.
* Attend an induction training day before starting in post.
Requirements & Qualifications
* A valid driving licence, including Class C1 vehicles.
* Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme through Disclosure Scotland.
* Ability to handle tasks safely and efficiently, with a strong attention to detail and compliance with health and safety regulations.
