Registered Nurse - Mental Health - Aneurin Ward
A Band 5 qualified nurse will support the Ward Manager and deputies in operating the psychiatric unit, ensuring safe, patient‑centred care. The post‑holder will lead day‑to‑day clinical and nursing management, supervise junior staff, deliver holistic nursing care, and advance professional development.
* Lead clinical nursing care in the ward and support the Ward Manager in achieving the service’s day‑to‑day objectives.
* Supervise, mentor and teach junior nursing and non‑nursing staff.
* Deliver comprehensive, evidence‑based practice and contribute to improving clinical governance.
* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with consent and contractual processes.
* Implement incident reporting and support quality improvement initiatives.
Essential qualifications.
* NMC registered.
* Pre‑registration evidence in direct nursing care.
* Experience delivering holistic nursing care.
* Understanding of consent process, contract of care and nursing documentation.
* Basic IT skills.
Desirable qualifications.
* Evidence of post‑registration study and training, POVA, Child Protection, Intermediate Life Support.
* Clear understanding of clinical governance framework and evidence‑based practice.
* Knowledge of incident reporting policy and awareness of policies.
* Welsh language capability desirable; English or Welsh speakers welcome.
