Job Description:
Visual Merchandising Manager working for a global Beauty brand.
Location: Ideally based near Glasgow due to the head office location; however, candidates in London/UK are considered if willing to travel to HQ once a month, with expenses covered.
Start date: Beginning of September, 3-month FTC, likely extendable to 6 months.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Visual Merchandising, the VM Manager supports and implements the client’s global visual merchandising strategy by collaborating with stakeholders, developing fixture and event designs, and ensuring brand consistency across all retail channels. The goal is to deliver innovative retail experiences aligned with brand and business objectives across all physical distribution points.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and execute visual merchandising and store expression according to brand guidelines, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on POS materials for all distribution points.
* Create CPAs/schedules, assess risks, and flag issues for VM projects.
* Maintain the VM Master List for all projects, flag risks, and propose solutions.
* Coordinate retailer reset/rebuild updates and promotions with the VM master calendar to ensure timely delivery.
* Develop visual merchandising design briefs based on inputs from sales, marketing, and retail partners.
* Create planograms, optimize shelf productivity, and understand POS manufacturing, materials, and lead times.
* Manage CAPEX and OPEX costs, raise POs, and maintain budgets and trackers.
Role requirements:
* Minimum 5 years experience in visual merchandising within beauty and/or FMCG sectors.
* Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or Visual Merchandising.
* Strong technical knowledge of visual merchandising, manufacturing, and working with suppliers.
* Ability to interpret technical and manufacturing drawings.
* Solid understanding of project management principles for large, complex projects.
* Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Confident in creating and presenting VM proposals to stakeholders, sharing risks and solutions.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and design software including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Cinema4D, AutoCAD, Fusion.
* Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
