About the Role:
We are seeking a driven and experienced In-House Solicitor to lead the legal aspects of our car finance mis-selling claims, including Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), Hire Purchase (HP), and Discretionary Commission Arrangements (DCA). This role is perfect for a proactive solicitor with expertise in financial litigation or consumer law, who is motivated by delivering justice for clients while thriving in a performance-driven environment. Whether based in Bristol, Birmingham, or working remotely, you’ll be supported by a high-performing team with a proven track record in claims.
Responsibilities:
* Provide expert legal advice and support on car finance mis-selling claims, including PCP, HP, and DCA-related cases.
* Conduct thorough case assessments, reviewing contracts, financial agreements, and evidence to build strong claims.
* Draft, review, and manage legal documentation, including claim forms, pleadings, and correspondence with financial institutions and regulators.
* Liaise with external counsel, regulatory bodies (e.g., Financial Conduct Authority), and other stakeholders as needed.
* Develop and implement legal strategies to maximize claim success rates and client outcomes.
* Stay updated on evolving regulations and case law related to car finance mis-selling and consumer protection.
* Collaborate with the claims management team to ensure seamless case progression and client communication.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, including FCA guidelines where applicable.
* Meet individual and team performance targets to drive business growth.
Qualifications:
* A qualified Solicitor in England and Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction) with a valid practicing certificate.
* Minimum of 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in financial litigation, consumer law, or regulatory compliance.
* Proven track record in handling complex litigation or dispute resolution, preferably in financial services or consumer claims.
* Strong understanding of car finance products (PCP, HP) and mis-selling issues, including Discretionary Commission Arrangements (DCA).
* A confident communicator with the ability to engage clients and stakeholders professionally.
* Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and target-driven with a resilient mindset.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Previous experience in customer service, sales, or claims (ideal but not essential).
