We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join our Healthcare team at HMP Lewes, a local remand category B prison in Lewes.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. On call at weekends once every couple of months on average.
Salary
This is a full-time role with an annual salary up to £68,000 + £4,000 car allowance, depending on experience.

Main duties
As Head of Healthcare, responsibilities include:
* Provide proactive management of the on-site healthcare services
* Maintain the strategic direction of the service and deliver agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England
* Deliver a highly functional clinical service within the budget, with support from the finance business partner and regional manager
* Participate in the wider prison senior leadership team to ensure the contract is highly functional and healthcare is embedded within the prison
* Lead, develop and motivate the team, ensuring supervision and performance appraisal
* Be the CQC registered manager and implement internal and external policies and procedures, particularly those with statutory implications

Qualifications and experience
* Degree or equivalent level of experience and clinical qualification
* Inclusive leadership approach with a culture of continuous progression and innovation
* Ability to influence and deliver information to key partners and stakeholders
* Experience as a CQC registered manager, or equivalent registered body
* Experience managing multifaceted budgets
