Parts Clerk
The Parts Clerk will spend a significant amount of time working in an office environment in support of the Parts Department and the Maintenance Department and will be performing administrative and office duties of a complex and challenging nature. This position is based in Hillburn, NY in supporting the Lower Hudson Transit Link (LHTL) and Transport of Rockland (TOR) contracts.

Key Responsibilities
* Performs administrative duties related to the purchase and delivery of parts, stock, and non-stock items; reviews vendor cost estimates, price lists, and contracts. Takes inventory of parts and equipment and maintains inventory records. Conducts cycle counts, inventories and obsolete parts surveys, as directed.
* Drives company vehicle to pick up incoming stock or to pick up and deliver parts to units in other buildings or locations.
* Contacts suppliers/vendors to obtain the best prices.
* Initiates complex requisitions with explicit ordering specifications.
* Maintains parts catalogs, order parts, track, and monitor purchase orders under established purchasing guidelines. Handles accounts receivables and adheres to budget.
* Creates and processes purchase orders and enters work orders into the maintenance software system.
* Contacts manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers as needed regarding service, delivery, and new products.
* Receives incoming orders and stores material.
* Maintains warranty records and return defective items.
* Organizes and maintains files, a variety of lists, control records, logs, forms, data sheets, requisitions, purchase orders and other related documents.
* Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
* 1-3 years of experience in a parts/inventory environment.
* Effective computer, time management and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication, priority setting, and decision-making skills required.
* Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Must be flexible, must be able to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy and possesses good judgment and discretion.
* Detail oriented, well organized, and possess effective time management skills.
* Must be able to work as a member of the team.
* Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customer on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups.
Physical Requirements
* 80% of work is accomplished in doors and in well-ventilated facilities.
* 20% of work is accomplished outside of the facility.
* Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
* May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
* Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
* Must be able to travel for company training, meeting or support missions.
